Each round of bidding takes place Friday, 12 PM ET — Sunday, 8 PM ET of each week.
To avoid sniping, last minute bids will extend each auction by 30 minutes.
What is the "Pre-Auction" phase?
The Pre-Auction phase is a unique feature of our platform, allowing users to preview upcoming auctions before bidding begins. Popular auction houses often showcase upcoming auctions well in advance, and this gives users time to hear about the auction and to prepare for bidding.
During this phase, if a user would like to avoid a potential "bidding war," they can purchase a listing at the "Buy Now" price, and it will immediately settle. Once bidding begins, the "Buy Now" option will no longer be available.
What is the "Dynamic Fee"?
Another key feature of our platform is the dynamic fee for new listings. This is a novel mechanic with several benefits, including:
- Bonding CurveThe dynamic fee structure is based on the current number of active listings on the platform. During the beta phase, your first listing is free. Subsequent listings require a fee based on the bonding curve (and your seller history) that is designed to discourage listing too many auctions at once.
- Higher Quality ListingsBy requiring an upfront fee, low-quality listings are naturally discouraged. The dynamic fee structure also disincentivizes unrealistic valuations, penalizing sellers who do not price their listings appropriately. This results in high-quality listings that more accurately reflect fair market value.
- Enhanced Buyer ExperienceUnlike other marketplaces with thousands of low-quality names and unrealistic valuations, our focus on high-quality listings ensures that buyers save time by avoiding the need to sift through countless listings. This enhances the overall user experience and satisfaction.
